Visiting Jim Morrison & Oscar Wilde

It was another early morning after a late night in Paris, but we wanted to get moving to Pére LaChaise Cemetery where Jim Morrison & Oscar Wilde were resting. The cemetery was completely across town, 1 hour Metro ride away.

What beautiful monuments!

Then we found Jim.

The security was incredible, fences

spikes on the wall

all because people can't let Jim rest peacefully. They've tried to have sex on his grave, smoke pot, drink. It's crazy. There was a tree nearby with lots of great scribbles.

It took us a bit but we found Oscar Wilde. The ladies love this guy! There were so many lipstick kisses on his grave that they were overlapping one another!

Even Maria wanted to give him a smooch..

People leave all kinds of thing there.. bus tickets, airplane tickets.. Shoes..

They left whatever it was that got them there.

But whole place was filled with interesting sculptures on the graves!

One guy was trying to get some sun on top of his grave.

After strolling through it was time to get some wine and chrizo for our lunch, when we found that Colin is a packaged fish!

Maria is happy that Colin doesn't smell or kiss like a fish.

After a quick cafe au lait & an espresso at Le Rey with 2 Harley Davidsons parked out front.

It was off to Le Pont des Arts to put our lock on the bridge! If you're in Paris on the bridge, look for our lock! Come from the Louvre side of the river Seine. On the left side count 4 lamp posts, second fencing square, the post on the right of the square, small lock near the post, midway down.

Then it was off to the river Seine for a bottle of wine, a sandwich & cookies!

Yup, we're drinking from Best Western Plastic cups.

Back to the hotel for a bit of laundry. In the center is the way to the main lobby. On the right is the breakfast area, on the left hanging out the window are Colin's boxer shorts drying.

Later, we see Paris at night after we eat snails. *Shudder*
